pops, clicks and glitches after rendering -ACID Product Family

Whenever I render a project to a sterio wave file from ACID pro3, I get "glitches, pops and clicks" that were not present during playpack of the project. Closer inspection reveals that the glitches are actually part of the mix down, and not just a playback problem. I've tried rendering groups of tracks at a time, and each part as a seperate wave file with marginal results. I use several audio programs, and have yet to have this problem.
