Subject:Amplitube and Acid Pro 7

I decided to create a new topic, so as to narrow down the issue.

Before I uninstall and reinstall everything, I'll give it one last go!

Amplitube is in the plugin manager window (bottom left of screen) with the other plugins. Because I need to create an audio track to record my guitar, using Amplitube, I need to click on the green "track effects" icon on the track header, right? Amplitube should be in there, with all the other track effects and VST plugins, but it's not!

How do I make Amplitube show up in the track effects, audio plugin chooser window?

I've tried drag/drop, searching for .dll files and everything else. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm using Windows 7 64bit (but my Acid Pro 7 is installed in the 32 bit program files x86 folder)

All my Midi soft synths work fine with my keyboard in Acid. And Amplitube does work fine as standalone.

Anyone got any more suggestions?

Amplitube is in the plugin manager window (bottom left of screen) with the other plugins.

Exactly what folder is it in with in the Plug-in Manager view.

One thing you may want to try:

Locate the file:

C:\Users\<you>\AppData\Local\Sony\ACID Pro\7.0\acidpro.plugincache.xml

While ACID is NOT running: Move or delete it.

Start ACID. This will force ACID to do a complete rebuild of your plug-ins.

Does Amplitude work now?

What version of Amplitude do you have?

Thanks Peter

I've got IK Multimedia's Total Studio 2 bundle, which comes with about 4 or 5 different amp plugins.

I did as you said and removed the following file:
"acidpro.plugincache.xml"

One item has worked, and that is "AmpegSVX", which is part of the Amplitube group. It now shows up in the track effects window! The rest of the Amplitube (version 2, Jimi Hendrix, Metal etc) do not. I'll need to re-scan them again I guess.

I think the problem is I need to sort out my folders. I need to put certain plugins, like Amplitube, into the "track effects" folders in the plugin manager window. Just not sure how to do that. It seems all the soft synths are in one folder within the plugin manager window, which is the "soft synth all" folder.

It's working now! Brilliant. That did the trick.

Thanks Peter.
