Hello !

How to insert space in timeline and delete slices of timeline (even if some sample items are deleted ) ? Any difference between Acid 2.0 Xpress and Pro ?

Situation: If I arranged quiet a number of samples for quiet a long timeline, and I decide that I want a break INSIDE the arranged timeline for ALL samples, or I want to insert an intro BEFORE what I aranged - I must create "space" or at least "move" all items of all timelines "right to the breakpoint = all items later in the timeline".

ACID 2.0 Xpress/Music/Pro: I know that by keeping the control key pressed I may add items in the timeline to be selected (of different samples or of the same sample).

ACID 2.0 Xpress/Music/Pro: I know that I may select ALL timeline items of a SINGLE sample by the special command (after mouse- right click). But this technique may not be combined with the first one. Ups - this command is not available with ACID 3.0 anymore, as I was demonstrated ?!

O.k. with free Acid Xpress and 8 samples, I MIGHT do the task manually and move all 8 timelines one after the other with the second technique for insertion at the begin - but spaces "inside" and deletions of timeslices just works with totally manual interaction... o.k. my 8-sample tracks are usually just a minute or so, so acceptable but unconfortable.

But with the full ACID Music 2.0 or Acid Pro 2.0 versions, using with many tracks of 2..3 minutes length at least I would be in trouble !

So, ladies and gentlemen, how do you solve such problems with ACID 2.0 ?

With the NEW Acid 3.0, as I was demonstrated, there is the EXTRA "Insert" menu with the menu option "Insert time". O.k. that's a good reason for 3.0, but what about deletion of a time slice ? Any trick, or must we wait for Acid 4.0 ?

Sincerely
Rolf

Hello,

Ripple Edits. Check in the 3.0 manual about ripple edits and see if that can fit what your trying to do. I'm not clear on what your trying to do But I think your trying to add space and delete space in time line in 2.0. So you can add space the same way by putting curser where you want it and using insert silence command in Acid 2.0, and in 3.0 you can select a time selection accross time and delete everything in the time selection and then you can rejoin the loops that are broken if you want to in 3.0 it has that feature to break and rejoin loops after deleting time selection. Ripple edits can be used for this.

But like I said I don't know if that's what you are trying to do.

See ya
