Subject:A Word About ACID 7

I use ACID for TV and Film music. Have done since the day it came out. Literally. I cut my teeth making long tape loops, so ACID was a no-brainer. I make my own rhythm loops, use the Sony library, import FL Studio parts, and then many layers of disk tracks in the normal DAW fashion, electric and acoustic parts, with tons of FX and other production tricks that come with the territory. In short I use almost every ACID function there is. For all the problems we encounter, I have to say that ACID has really been a boon over the years, and ACID 7 is remarkably bug free lately. Here's hoping ACID 8 keeps it up. I do have a couple pressing issues. Why does ACID not see the WAVES VST presets, but it does see them when I run them as DX? I just recently noticed this. I am on Waves version 4, if that means anything. Also, I have had problems with running effects on tracks, but not so much as assignable FX. Most notably Waves R Channel, it causes a lot of problems as a track plug...maybe any Waves plugs as track plugs do this...I can't seem to open projects with them after I save and close, although said projects are fine with them, playing perfectly until I close and try reopen them. Anyone have this problem? I am curious because I am considering updating my plugs, but the new versions are not backward compatible, meaning archived projects from version 3 and 4 will not open with Waves 6 or 7, etc. It might be worth it if the new versions allow more track FX compatibility. |
