hello folks~ as a dj, i make mixes all the time and record them on my computer using sound forge 4.5. i would like to burn cds from the huge continuous .WAV files which the mixes become, but i need to be able to listen to the .WAV first, marking where one track ends and the next begins so that my cd burner can recognize the separate markers and burn the cd accordingly. for example, the cd i'd like to put out first is from a mix which is one long .WAV file, but consists of 14 different records mixed together. i want the person who gets the cd to be able to "see" all 14 tracks on their cd audio player, and be able to skip around if they want, etc. any help/suggestions/instructions for doing what i describe above would be greatly appreciated. peace~ dj Vegan |

Tis can be done if you have CD Architect. Create your mix, then open CDA and place the file in CDA. Move through the file and place a track marker (press T key) where you want the new track to start. I create music programs in this fashion for instore music applications and have not had any problems. Bill Woolford. |

Cd architect is the best solution for this if you are using sound forge 4.5. sound forge 5.0 doesn't support CD architect, so don't bother looking for it if you don't have sf 4.5. Another one of my favorite programs that does this same type of thing is Nero by Ahead. In my opinion this is the best cd burning software on the market, since CD architect has been discontinued. I was told by the salesperson that SF 5.0 did not have CD Architect because it was build-in SF 5.0, Otherwhise, why discontinue and trash all that code work? Ant. |

This is a very old issue, but basically you where told wrong. SF discontinued CD architect way before Sound Forge 5.0 was released. The reason why they discontinued it was because they could not keep up with the support of new CD recorder drivers for the software. Sound Forge 5.0 does have a utility to burn to a CDR, but is nowhere near the capability of CD architect. |
