Just bought this software at great expense for mastering. It has all this wonderfull effects and so on, and I can not find the way to apply an effect or process to a given area, with a "fade-in" and "fade-out" of that edit or effect!
Can someone please tell me how to do this?
Or how to "hack" it? I can not beleive that SF would
not include a way to do this.... Computer audio mastering is supposed to exist just because the ability of fixing a problem in a mix in a "close-up" and clinical way.... ( Think Photoshop )
Why someone would apply all those FX to ALL the track
if only ONE second of time needs it?

THANK YOU in advance!

Hello,

Well don't get all huffy at the very beginning there Skippy.

To do this you select the part of the song you want to fade by draging the curser accross the waveform display, typically at the end of the song, then select Proccess>Fade>Out.

See ya

NO,no.... fade AN EFECT, not gain!

I found a way to hack an "envelope" but is not very
"real-time preview" thing....

1.- You select the area to be affected, copy and paste to new file.
2.- Apply effect, generously! you will need a reasonable wet signal.
3.- Copy file exactly ( clipboard ).
4.- Paste SPECIAL, into same selection of original file, this should be saple accurrate.
5.- The special mode alows you to cross fade, adjust!
and keep trying until acceptable mix is created...

Does the job, a better way is to do this in 3 parts,
Part A for fade in of effext mix...
Part B is the constant part in the middle...
Part C is the fade out....

Again, does the job... but very far from the "envelop"
concept, like Vegas or other programs....

I Think Sonic Foundry MUST have this envelope functionality by next software revision or upgrade...

Hope this helps someone...
