Subject:Sampletank working for me, almost....

I got in on the Sampletank Group Buy for my first attempt at MIDI. I got a tiny AKAI midi keyboard. I can usually record okay, but sometimes I get silence and have to either exit Acid or switch to another synth, then back to Sampletank again. I am using Acid Music Studio 6. I tried the latest update, checking Task Manager (a few spikes over 50%, usually stays well under that), and disconnecting my USB wireless connector. I did a search here as well. Any suggestions appreciated.

I run Windows XP MCE, SP2, Athlon 64 X2 4200+ 2.2, 3 gig ram, line6 Guitarport as external sound card and audio interface

If your MIDI keyboard uses USB, make sure that it's plugged directly into a port on the motherboard and not through an external USB hub. Also, sometimes you have to give the track focus to get the soft-synth playing again. It's not just SampleTank but all soft-synths in ACID. Switching track focus back and forth usually clears it up for me.

Thanks Johnny, I'll give it a try. With all the problems people can have with MIDI, I felt pretty happy that it's generally working for me first time out.
