Hello, i´m planing to install the app on my Laptop...i´ve got a huge library and my internal HD is quiet small. I remember reading that Acid loads loops and One shots completly into RAM...is this true ? In this case i could install the loops on an external USB2 drive or is this not recommended ? Also in which case Acid streams files from HD ? Cheers, Tomas |

loops are put into the ram, one-shots and beatmapped files are streamed from the disk. i have all my samples on internal drives, so i couldn't say how well ACID streams one-shots and beatmapped files from an USB2 drive. if you already have the HD why not try it out :) |

Thanks a lot for the quick answer ! Well in this case my idea is not to use the external HD for streaming (One Shots and Beatmapped) but for the Loops due it´s a huge folder and it eats up all my internal HD space. I´m just curious if somebody else has experiences.... |

Other than the time it takes for the Loops to load from the USB drive (I'm assuming it's a flash drive; if so, it would take almost no time at all), there shouldn't be a problem. Iacobus |
