I noticed a strange error with the Waves Ultra Pitch Shift effect plugin. If you use it in your project that contains 44.1kHz samples, then render the file to a lower sample rate (such as 22050Hz ADPCM), it introduces a weird ring modulation kind of noise to the voice sample, rendering it useless.
However, if you use the ultra pitch shift on a sample that's already in 22050Hz, it sounds just fine. I tried this both in Sound Forge (by resampling the voice sample first, then using the effect), and in Vegas Audio (by using the effect on a track with a resampled 22.5kHz sample, then previewing it in 22050Hz ADPCM).
All in all, resampling, then saving in 22050Hz ADPCM in Sound Forge seems to yield much smoother results than rendering the file straight out of Vegas.
Will anything be done to improve the quality of file rendering in Vegas Audio? I could of course render all my hundreds of project files to 44.1kHz, then resample them with the batch converter, but that would be a bit too much of a hassle.
Update: If I change the sample rate to 22050Hz from the Project Properties, this error is fixed. However, there is still inconsistency between project samplerate and rendering samplerate.
