Subject:"Filter sweep"

Is there a better way to insert a pseudo "filter" sweep on an event than this?

1. Add an assignable EQ
2. Adjust the EQ to use one of the 4 pages, insert a high shelf EQ, negative gain, frequency where you want it.
3. Set the track to pre volume for the FX
4. On the event you want to filter, use an volume envelope to gradually lower the volume, and an FX enveope to send more signal to the FX.

It seemed to work, but it was seemed to involve a lot of steps.
