build 162, SF5b Purpose - I have long wav files, i record to sound forge edit, and save them. I need to break this long wav file into segmented wav files, and finally burn a cd (disc at once) with no gaps so i have tracks on the cd. Currently - Sound forge is used only to record, edit and save. Since Sound forge 4.5 didn't support this feature i would use Steinberg's WavLab to then break down wav files into smaller wav's, then use burner prog for cd's. This process means i have to use another program just to create segmented wav files, Pain in the butt. Just upgraded to sf5, and noticed the regions and Extracting functions (didn't notice before). Have now used tested 3 cd's and notice when listening bak on portable cd player very slight hickups on track to track change. I have used my previous system for years, and burning program and original sound file are fine. It seems my version of sf5 has glitches matching up wav's used through 'extracting regions' feature. The function isn't a clean CUT. Solution - Perhaps a bug fix of some kind. Perhaps some technical guys at sonic foundry can sus it out. For now it's back to additional wav editors just to perform this function. |
