Why is it saving wave files as SP0000.WAV, no matter what I tell it to name it in the save box. So far the help files and manual haven't been enlightening.

Thanks

Do you by some chance have SF set to save as a Scott Studios Wave? Found this link via Google: http://homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=279298

While it may not directly answer your question it does point to the possibility of what I mentioned in the first sentence happening. Read sentence 2 in question 1. I've never even heard of Scott Studios wave format until now. I have SF8 and SF9 and always save in regular .wav format.

You are saving files as "Scott Studios Wave" files.

You (almost certainly) don't want to save your files using this special Scott Studios format, what you (almost certainly) want is to save standard .WAV files. So in the "Save as type" box you need to choose "Wave (Microsoft) (*.wav)", not the "Scott Studios Wave (*.wav)" that you are currently choosing.
