Subject:Chopper copy command bug? Can anyone repro?

I have tried doing a copy operation in the Chopper and then pasting using either the standard paste command or the paste repeat command. The clip/event gets pasted but there's no waveform data inside; it's blank.

I thought I was going crazy because this was working the other day.

However, I saved and closed the project and then re-opened the project. The clips that I copied from the Chopper had the waveform data. : /

Can anyone repro? Steps:

-Open any project. Open the Chopper if it isn't already open.

-Select a track (can be any track; MIDI or digital audio). Select a portion of the MIDI/audio in the Chopper. Press Ctrl + C.

-Select a track to paste into and place the cursor. Use either the paste or paste repeat commands (Ctrl + V or Ctrl + B respectively).

-If the clip or event is blank, save the project, close it and reopen.

This wouldn't be too big a deal to me but there's someone who would like to use this feature.

OK, I'll bite, you said there is someone who'd like to use this feature--obviously, since I popped my head above the parapet, I'm that person. But more importantly, is there another way to do this, even if it's with the mouse pointer instead of shortcut keys (which would be my preference)? I had someone assisting me this morning who dried dragging, also no soap. I'll try anything--or almost anything--once.

Hmmm...actually, I tried making a selection in the Chopper, then drag-and-dropping it onto the timeline. That worked fine. (Though, it's not as streamlined as copying and pasting.)

Yeah, it's the dragging-and-dropping thing that'll be the show-stopper for me. Good as my s/w is, I'm not sure how to tell if I'm positioned on that which should be dragged or not, or finding the beginning of that region. Well, in my unhumble opinion, it's a bug that's gotta be squashed, and the manufacturer should be made aware of it asap. Heads up, Sony, I'm open to NDA-ing any fix you might come up with, as I'm stuck in the water with a $300 piece of software I really can't use until you do.

Yep, it's doing the same for me - definitely a bug.

However for me closing the project and re-opening it doesn't help - on re-opening I still have the "empty" event(s) with no audio in them.

I reported this bug a while ago.

I stopped using the Chopper and instead went back to how I chopped samples before it was introduced in Acid.

I guess it never got fixed.

How did you do that outside of Acid? In Sound Forge perhaps?

Also what's up with this new Acid Music Studio 8? Anybody care to see if they fixed the problem in there? Maybe just have to wait for the Pro version 8 to come out. I can't believe they're selling it for such a low price.
