Hi,
I've just read your plea for help and I'm sure Sound Forge can clean up your sound. I have removed constant mike stand bumps from an audio tape, and reduced increadable tape and hum noise from a 30 year old tape, so I guess it may be possible. I can only suggest sending a snippet so that a trial can be taken.
