Subject:Need to install VMR on Downloaded Acid 3 and can't find file

I've just bought the downloadable version of Acid Pro3. I need to lock it up as slave to Logic, and it appears that I need to install the VMR, but the manual talks about installing from a directory on the factory CDrom, which of course I don't have. All I have is a single setup file, as well as a setup directory on the hard disk which was created from that file. This directory has about 30 files in it, most of which are zipped. None of them looks like it might hold the VMR stuff.
Any ideas?

Hello,

Go to the downloads page at SF and go to Utilities the VMR is there then, to install unzip to a directory, then go to add new hardware in control panel and select multimedia sound cards devices, then select select from list of known devices then select have disk then navigate to directory of midi router.

Thanks Rocket, I got the VMR installed - but now I have further problems!

It's several things which I'd like to sort out, but I want to spend some time to get a clear picture of what's going on. For example:

1. I'm running Gigastudio, Logic and Acid. When I ask Acid to lock to incoming code it says somethings already using the midi router. This doesn't seem to happen if I open Acid first - but I don't want to do it that way.

2. I can't see how to make Acid not only start when Logic starts, but follow its tempo. It seems to only use the MTC as a start indicator, not tempo. I have the strong suspicion that Acid isn't designed to follow a different drummer (damn!)

3. In attempting to enter a smpte time for the cursor position, I have no problems setting 00:1:30:00 as the start time, but if I attempt to enter the same number with an additional 10 frames (ie 00:1:30:10), instead of using the frames digit Acid adds the ten to the seconds digit, so that I get a 1 minute 40 second start.

I'm sure this will become clearer as I spend more time with it.

Does anyone know if the printed manual is more comprehensive than the downloaded one?

26. Where’s Chase to MTC?
“Chase to MTC” has been replaced by “Trigger to MTC.” ACID will no longer attempt to vary its playback
rate to chase to incoming timecode. The proper way to synchronize ACID to other applications and
hardware is outlined in the ACID Help file.

Hope this helps
