I'm having a difficult time understanding the behaviour of selected stuff in AP7. I understand when you click on the track header, you're dealing with that track but regardless, innocently twirling the mouse wheel over the Master volume changes it despite it not being selected and is causing all kinds of grief. Is there any way to lock all the controls of a track or bus or master so that none of the parameters change? Brian |

Um, maybe stop 'innocently' twiddling your mouse wheel ? Oddly, randonly hitting keyboard keys does all sorts of strange things too, as does 'innocently' stomping your foot when it may be hovering over the accelerator in your car ... LOL ... Please don't send me to the princpal's office. I'll try and behave. But surely, with so many controls on screen, they could let us twirlers lock things in place. Maybe the next release will have it. Brian |

Muslim prayer beads are a good solution for fidgety fingers. Or there are those hand exercisers you can squeeze and build up your forearm muscles; keeps you out of trouble with the Acid volume control, and improves your tennis game at the same time. |

Twirling the mouse wheel over the Master volume to alter the volume is a feature, a pro not a con, twirl elsewhere on screen. I'm sure a lock for this would never have entered the designers head. |

Hi, runman Using the mouse wheel to change volume or anything else is a GREAT feature. That's not what this thread is about. It's about this behaviour when a track or control is NOT selected. The screen is loaded with tracks and busses and there are controls every 5 pixels. They shouldn't be affected by mouse wheels or anything else if they're NOT selected. Just saying. Brian |

Hovering over a slider in Acid or Vegas IS selecting it. Get used to it folks - it's a good design ! Yes a quick easy (routine) Track Lock function would also be good design, and is missing. What is, however, NOT great is that when using Tweakui X-Mouse emulation (window selection automatically follows the mouse pointer), the mouse-wheel focus remains stuck on the last 'actively selected' (clicked-on) window control. That is a bug that remains unaddressed for years. X-Mouse is essential for me, for efficient working in multi-window applications. geoff |
