Ok, this may sound stupid but I can't seem to find an answer. I can't seem to get my soft synth GUI screen to appear. If I click "view/soft synth properties" BEFORE I specify my soft synth then I see my synth GUI. However, if I click "view/soft synth properties" AFTER specifying my soft synth I get a small, blank window. I also sometimes use Superior Drummer as my MIDI output device and EZPlayer as my MIDI input device. How in the world do I get the GUI for EZPlayer (the MIDI input device) to appear? Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

If you double-click the specific soft synth in the Mixer, does its corresponding synth GUI appear? Not sure about EZPlayer as I have never really tried using a GUI as input. If EZPlayer is selected as input, it should be available to choose within the MIDI track you want to control it with and EZPlayer should be added as a soft synth. Iacobus |

No, double-clicking on the track doesn't seem to do anything. But thanks for responding - I appreciate it. Can you or anyone else out there try this and see what happens? 1. Make sure "View\Soft Synth Properties is unchecked" 2. Insert a MIDI track 3. Click the MIDI output button on the track 4. Click "Insert Soft Synth" on the pop-up menu 5. Double-click on any installed synth 6. At this point the synth's GUI should appear. Click the "X" to close the GUI. 7. Click "View\Soft Synth Properties." I get a little blank window - not the synth GUI. How do I get the synth GUI to re-display? |

Please fill out your system specs in your user profile and mark them as visible. What version of ACID are you using? I have tried you steps, and I do not have any issues as you describe. Have you tried double clicking on the Soft-synth's bus on the track folders or the Mixing Console View? Peter |

Peter, I'm using Pro 6. I'm not sure what you mean by Mixing Console View - maybe that is a v7 feature. I have tried clicking and double-clicking everything though. I did find a workaround to get the synth properties to appear. I click "View\Soft Synth Properties" which then displays my little blank window. I then click and set focus to a different track and bingo - there is the synth GUI. I can then click on any track and see the GUI for that particular synth. But I still have no idea how to get the GUI for the MIDI input device to appear. |

Followed the steps to the letter and didn't have any problems either. Could it be a video driver issue? |

I don't think so. The blank window just looks like what a properties window would look like if there is no object for which to display properties. When I switch tracks the little window immediately expands or contracts and display the appropriate GUI. I downloaded a trial of Pro 7 and it seems to fix the issue for me. I'm not crazy about shelling out $150 just to fix this problem though when everything else seems to be working fine. I still need to figure out how to get the MIDI input device GUI to appear. Any ideas? |

Yes, this is an issue in 6. Your workaround is what we recommended. There will be no updates to address this in ACID 6. Peter |
