Subject:Introduction and a batch converter RIFF error

Hello All -

I'm new to the forum and this is my first post. Looks like a great place to share information about Sound Forge with other users.

I've been using Sound Forge 4.5 for well over a year now. I'm just now starting to explore some of it's other features now that I'm comfortable with some of the basics.

I wanted to give the Batch Converter a try so I read the instructions carefully and ran a test to see if I could run multiple processing functions on selected files.

For my test, I specified Paragraphic EQ, Normalize and Click and Crackle removal under Conversion Settings. I then selected my destination folder and ran the script on my file.

A progress meter popped up and it sucessfully ran the functions without error.

The problem came when I went to the destination folder to check out my new file. When I clicked on it to open it, I received the following error message:

"The File C:\My Music\test.wav is not a Wave file or contains and unrecoverable error. A vaild RIFF tag could not be found in the specified file."

I checked out what I could find on RIFF files on the web and knew immediately I was in way over my head.

I can see that the batch converter would be a great time saver, but I can't use it until this is resolved.

Any suggestions on how to fix my problem?

Thanks!

I just played around some more with this, trying to figure it out and stumbled upon some success.

I am able to use "Run Batch Script" under the tools pull down and perform multiple functions on a file and be able to save it. No RIFF tag error. This is good. I'm happy!

So now I just need to figure out why I cannot do this with multiple files saved to a destination folder.

Hopefully somebody can help me out

Thanks
