Looks like a couple of others here are beginning to realize this as well: It appears that features have been eliminated in the "upgrade" from Batch Converter 4.5 to 5.0. Looks like you can process stuff with DirectX effects, and you can change file formats, but where are all of the "Sound Forge-ish" processes like normalization and Auto-Trim / Crop? I was in the middle of converting my vinyl library to MP3s when Sound Forge 5.0 came along. I've had this process on hold for months, waiting for the new Batch Converter to arrive. Now it looks like I'm going to have to revert back to 4.5 after all.... Allan Metts -- Atlanta |

Hey There - Actually, if you look carefully in the what look like Direct X plugins, you will see Bit Depth conversion, Auto Trim Crop, Normalize, Channel Converter, Resample, etc. they're there. It's just a slightly different format. You have most of the useful sound forge stuff in there. |

I know. I asked why this is in my post called "Ted!". But did you happen to notice that there are more options for bit-depth conversion in the batch converter? What is SF doing? |
