You can't remove vocals or mute instruments in a mp3, or in a wav or on a CD ! Everything is like on 1 track, even with the greatest filter you can't remove 1 instrument.

That's the only thing i know for sure

I HATE TO BREAK IT TO YOU, BUT U CAN'T...NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE SAYS....U CANNOT REMOVE EXTRACT VOCALS FROM A PRE-RECORDED MATERIAL.....THIS IS HOW THE REAL REMIXERS DO IT....THEY TAKE THE VOCAL TRACK OFF OF THE VINYL OR CD AND GO FROM THERE...YOU KNOW??? CUTTING IT UP AND STUFF TO FIT THE NEW BEAT!!!.....ACID MAKES REMIXING EASY, BUT NOT THAT EASY!

Well, you "kind of" can. On most of my remixes, I do get the original vocals from the record company but on some (billie holiday and James Brown) I couldn't, but I was hored to do those remixes. So I put the tracks through the Electrix EQ killer. Curve out as much of the track as possibe without completely ruining it and then when you put your tracks over the VOX that you "kind of" isolated, you'll cover up any of the original track that you'd still hear if the original is soloed. Hope it helps.
Check the 2 I mentioned on my web site. fredcoury.com
All of the remixes so far were done on acid 2 exclusively.
