Animated Buttons & Highlights

Hi there! How's everybody around here? Hope you've been well and safe. It's been a looong time ;-)
Now I'm trying to get some animated buttons and highlights using DVDA 4.0. The thing is: I'm using some animations as buttons that I have rendered as AVI files saving also their alpha channel. Each one shows a small toucan; all are placed in the middle of a forest. Each toucan is highlighted correctly as an animation showing correctly on the display screen. On the other hand, as soon as you prepare and render the DVD, the final outcome shows a 1 still image highlighted behind each bird. Sadly I was expecting an animated highlight, a moving highlight as it is shown on the preview screen. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

A DVD menu does not and cannot have an animated highlight. It's a static, simple colored overlay. Period.

I don't know what you saw in DVD Architect's preview, but if it was an animated highlight, DVD Architect was previewing incorrectly. You should report it as a bug. (To be clear, it would be a bug that DVD Architect was previewing it as an animated highlight, not that the prepared DVD didn't have an animated highlight.)

Hi Rob,
Thanks for taking time to respond. Thanks for being direct and concise. My answer then is yes: DVDA version 4.0b is previewing animated highlights, but since it is an old version (that still worls great for me) I don't think it would be a good idea (IMHO) to report a bug. Thanks again for your help.
Cheers to you all,
Mark
