I'm not using it but I'll comment on the things the board does [b]not[b] have. It does not support the LGA 1366 processors so your growth path will be less than the maximum for i7. It doesn't have tri-channel memory so the memory bandwidth won't reach the maximum possible. The microATX form factor won't provide you with many options for plug-in adapters.
All that being said, it is possible that you can find a processor combination that will out perform my current P45 motherboard with Q9450 processor. It is likely to be a little more expensive because of the DDR3 memory and newer processor and motherboard chipset. It is probably not a long term board (three to four years). An ASUS P6T SE might have more staying power at a decent price if you are willing to change processors after a couple of years.
I've got a Velocity Micro system that utilizes a DP55WB motherboard. It seems to work fine with an Intel I7-860 processor and it supports overclocking.

I used to "roll my own" for many years and kept up with all of the hardware, but since the advent of the multicore processors, I haven't kept up, being more focused on systems installation and software and application support at work.
Your comments are much appreciated. The dealer also has a newer board series he's mentioned that I'll look into that might be more future friendly. I believe he can also supply ASUS. I'll check out the P6T.
I too was a bit worried about the expansion slot dearth, but the board has many on board featuers, like firewire, gigabit networking, etc. that I thought it might be worth taking a look at for the price.
Hi Dan. Yes, the package deal includes an i7 860 2.66G processor.
He's also quoted me on an Intel board with the newer Socket 1156 i7. Maybe I'll take a closer look at that one as well.
I'd love to build a rockcrusher, but I can't justify the cost right now. I am springing for a good Antec case and a quite good PS, so at least I can throw a different MB in later if I need to.
