My biggest concearn is the drivers, 2 ins , 2 outs, 1 micpre, 1 headphone out is good enough. i use a macbook pro running windows xp sp2. and mac osx. for some strange reason, windows does not recognize the firewie port. i have been on a couple of forums and i am not alone with this issue. so..... what usb 2 interfaces work flawless with acid , i use plenty of vstis and vst, and oad laptop. Thanks in advance |

I use the MAUDIO FAST TRACK PRO. It's been stable for me. I like it because it is powered by the USB connection. That's one less power supply I have to deal with. The preamps built in work great. |

Any interface will do just fine - Acid doesn't care, as long as is works with Windows on your machine. What IS important is that it has sufficient audio quality, features, and reputable drivers, which most do. You should demand an ASIO driver to be available, which sort of implies that the manufacturer is aware of technology beyond 'games' level. geoff |

on my main machine i use rme multiface . very reputable driver but very expensive. i need a usb 2.0 interface,i have tried many usb 1.1 interfaces over the years and they have pops and clicks, and horrible latency for playing soft synths. i dont know anyone that uses a usb 2.0 interface, so i am just trying to get some feedback. I dont think the fast track is usb 2.0, I know the fast track ultra is 2.0, the fast track mkII says usb 2.0 compatible. Thanks in Advance |

I've had fairly bad luck with every usb audio device I've used with acid, and vegas both. I think this might be partly an XP thing however. Mostly odd behavior like stuttering when I zoom in tight- and strange noises on occasion when the driver initializes.ALso the "amazing dissappearing driver" phenom. This with Mbox 1& 2, Mackie Spike, NI Audiokontrol 1. The AK 1 is usb 2.0 and the best performer of the bunch. EXCELLENT sound quality. I hope things work better under win7. |
