Audio plug-ins are evolving. Specifically, audio plugs can be controlled in real time by midi, letting the player creatively control the plugin via an external keyboard or a midi track. I.E. "The Finger" from native instruments. That one plug is such a break through for realtime effect manipulation, that it points the way for future "audio plugin development. Currently Acid 7 doesn't not allow audio plug-in's to receive midi. Cubase, Sonar, etc do allow this by letting the user choose to direct the midi stream to a list of destinations which include the audio plug-in. Hopefully, your development team is motivated and funded enough to beat the competition; and adds features like this to Acid 8 or the next release of Acid 7, for that matter. |

Bidule from plogue.com may do this. I haven't tried it. but it would be better if Sony would add midi control of audio plug-ins. |

This does work though (trying it now with Kore). Check that: - The controller MIDI port is selected as an input in the Preferences menu. - The controller MIDI port is NOT being used as a control surface. - The MIDI track you're using to capture the plugin data is set to use the controller MIDI port as its input (you can test it with "Auto: All"). - The MIDI track output is connected to a port that your plugin is listening to. It may help to use a Virtual MIDI cable, depending on how the plugin is set up. Sorry, I don't have a Finger to test on. Message last edited on4/7/2010 1:37:32 PM bynlamartina. |
