MP4 Support

Hello:

I just purchased Imagination Suite with Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9.0 so that I could edit the HD MP4 files from my Sony H20 camera.

Everytime I attempt to import the files I get the following error:

"Warning: An error occurred while opening one or more files.

An error occurrred reading the file. Make sure you have read access to the file/folder and that it is not corrupted."

I have access to this file (it's on my Desktop), so I am assuming Vegas Movie Studio Patinum 9.0 has issues with HD MP4 files.

Please help!

Regards,
Michelle

How large are your MP4 files? Have you read this post?

Hello:

Yes, I did read that. So I tried a small file (under 6 MB), and I was still unable to pull it into Vegas.

I did grab the latest update (version 9.0b), and I no longer get the error. However, it only plays the audio, it will not play the video from the file.

Any thoughts or advice would be helpful? I just got this software, so I'm hoping if this is an issue Sony will resolve.

Thanks,
Michelle

What version of Quicktime Player is installed on your computer?

You can try installing a codec pack..

Or use a program like Format Factory to convert files to a more Vegas-friendly format.

The latter is less likely to cause future problems.

Can you upload a clip of your H20 video somewhere and let us take a look at it?
