When I create a project and try to play it back, I receive the following Application Error (EVERYTIME): ------------------------------------------------------- Event Type: Information Event Source: Application Popup Event Category: None Event ID: 26 Date: 5/31/2001 Time: 6:47:42 PM User: N/A Computer: ADMIN Description: Application popup: acid.exe - Application Error : The instruction at "0x004c6b10" referenced memory at "0x0684f000". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program ------------------------------------------------------ I was going to buy it soon but not if this keeps up...Is anyone else out there getting this? |

I just bought build 189 and I installed to win2k sp1 and I can't even run it. Demo mode won't work either. I upgrade to sp2, same problem. I have a win 98 machine. I will try it on that and see if this program actually functions. Man, what a pain in the neck! This better be worth it! I attempted to reproduce your problem in both Windows 2000 SP1 and Windows 2000 SP2, but could not. There must be some commonality between the systems that are exhibiting the problem ("Application Error") besides Windows 2000 / SP1 / SP2. We test on a number of platforms including Win2000 w/ various service packs applied. We have not been able to reproduce this problem in-house. I was able to play the default project, create a new project, and add and play one shots, loops, beatmapped tracks, and (internal) MIDI files in Win2k SP0, SP1, and SP2. Some things that might help us solve the problem: - What audio hardware are you using? - Can you play the default song? (WelcomeToACID.acd-zip) - Are you using MIDI? (deaults to off) - Do you have 'anything weird' installed on your system? If more than one person who is experiencing the crash has similar answers to these questions, it will help narrow down the cause of the problem. Also, please post the "Details..." from a crash dump if the failure happens again so an engineer can take a look. thanks, -jonathan yankovich sonic foundry quality assurance jonathany@sonicfoundry.com |

yep! ACID 3.0 seems to work ok on a fresh win2k install. Must be something in my old installation the kills it.... my previous install of win2k was an upgrade from win95 and had alot of older software in it. I did a 2nd installation of win2k on my new 20G drive then I installed ACID and it runs! Don't know what crashed it in old installation. O well, it was time to clean the windows anyways as there were very dirty. Thanks for checkin it out for us! |

PLEASE NOTE: I WENT BACK TO ACID PRO 2.0D (Build 168) and LOADED THE SAME PROJECT! AND I DID NOT RECEIVE THIS ERROR....THIS ERROR ONLY OCCURS WITH THE NEW ACID PRO 3.0. SO MY CONCLUSION IS THAT ACID PRO DOES IN FACT HAVE SOME ISSUES!! |

to sonic foundry... i guess the problem just occur when you do complicated project... i am sure you won't see that problem in your demo... or create a new project by just import a few tracks. And this is not an excuse... Since so many users have this problem, i think SF should have take a look on it. i have project with no problem at all. But i have a project that i just adjust some volume/fx change... and i will crash acid even i playback and render at that time... i look at it, and it's nothing special at that time on everytrack. Also i have experience corrupted acd-zip file too.. it's even worst, i can't even open it anymore... I don't know what i can do with it... If i ask SF for help, they will only blame on end user's hardware/system problem. I don't know when the 3.0b will be released, but i am sure that many users are already very mad at the 3.0. SF must do something, otherwise, they will lose many users in the future... |
