23.98 to 29.97

Shot a spot as 23.98...edited on a 23.98 timeline...rendered to Cineform 23.98 .avi

If I place that rendered file on a 29.97 timeline and print to tape will vegas automatically do the proper adjustments?

"proper adjustments" to what? It will render the clip to 29.97 & put that on tape. But I'm not sure why you wouldn't want to put it in tape as it is.

as far as pulldown goes...or is that even necessary. Time Warner is requesting a 29.97 tape...not 23.98. I just want to make sure it doesn't look all screwy.

what's your deliverable format? ...if it's DVD, use the MPEG-2 render setting called "DVD Architect 24p NTSC...."

if it's an AVI or MOV, i'd submit clearly marked 23.976 and 29.97 versions (ie: with pulldown & without) unless i knew the client didn't care.

if it's BETA-SP i have no idea the best solution other than pulldown :)
