Subject:sf 9 cursor not moving small increments

I have discussed this issue with some of the tech people here...now I have re-installed 9e (their suggestion) and still have the problem...when I move the cursor with my mouse it moves but when I click there it does not allow the selected point to move...if I move farther it will move...this does not allow for the precise and quick editing I am used to working with SF 4-8...this all works fine on acid 7 and sf8...Sony will not give me an upgrade to sf10 or a refund...basically I spent money on this program and cannot use it...has anyone else had this problem? would love to get it working and get some use from it but since the time I bought sf9 I can only use sf8 and it works fine. I have checked out all the options of snapping etc and nothing is fixing it. Their solution is to offer me the upgrade price for sf10 as if I wasn't really supposed to get it? I have bought all versions since sf4...plus they did say they would give me 20 percent off that...any suggestions would be appreciated...
thanks

Can't reproduce here. You're sure all snapping is turned off? What happens when you use the keyboard arrows (left, right)? Does the cursor move?
Shouldn't matter but is this happening on "normal" 44.1KHz 16 bit uncompressed material?
Have you tried on another PC? You can use the same license you have now.
Have you tried a demo of V10? Better?

Grasping at straws,

Jesse

Sounds like you have snapping (to whatever) enabled.

I run 9e as well here (Win XP sp3) and if I need to make the kind of edits I think you are talking about I just zoom in and can make any kind of edit I want to (within reason, of course).

Thanks for the input,
I don't think it is a snapping issue...I have tried every option enabled or not and usually work with normal stereo wave files...now by using the arrow keys (which I have never tried before) I am able to get where I want to be...this is interesting, if I select a point then move it up to three clicks forward or back with the arrow key... then clicking the mouse will not change the point (which would be going back to where I was before clicking the arrow key)...if I move 4 or more clicks then it does move to that point...what does this tell you? It seems to do this regardless of the zoom ration. I have no issues with moving the mouse very tiny amounts in SF8 and in Acid 7 on the same computer only in SF9....when doing detailed cuts etc with SF9 it is hard to get to the point I want...thanks for the suggestion of the arrow keys... it means learning a new way to do something but it should work...have not tried sf10 yet but may try it.

What I was referring to was not so much as the movement 'problem' you seem to be having going away but a way for you to be able to make the fine edits you seem to be talking about. It's possible to zoom in to such an extent you flat-line a waveform. If that can't get you to where you want to make the edit you want to do then I don't know. IBy zooming in I can make any surgical edit I want to make; I don't get hung up on what gradation/resolution I can move a mouse - I just zoom in and get the job done.

Metal,
Have you tried zooming in to at least 1:4 and check the box in options > preferences > editing > disable auto snapping below 1:4 zoom.

Also, for what it's worth, on my system when snapping is active the keyboard arrows move the cursor still following the snapping rules.

Very puzzling.

Jesse
