After trying numerous recording packages, I have settled on Vegas Audio as the program that seems best to meet my needs. (Hope I'm right!) I also plan to purchase a Waves Native Power Pack, a set of basic FX that appear to be quite a bit better than what comes with Vegas. It has been suggested to me that I need a mastering program such as Sound Forge. My question, which may seem way stupid to you who have been at this a while, is fairly simple: Why do I need Sound Forge, and what will it do for me that Vegas won't? I would appreciate any help I can get.
