4.5 and 5.0a were fine: 5.0b now gives me display problems. In one instance I got regularly placed vertical lines appear on the waveform disply in SF from a Vegas file, and when returning to Vegas, the same lines were there. Once the display in Vegas was refreshed (F5), they went away. Another problem: when a waveform display is maximized, the display about half way down to the bottom is corrupted. I have JPG's of this if you want. I'm using a G400 Dualhead card, on a PIII 933, 256 Megs... These corruptions are on the primary display. I've already posted the problem on Matrox's help forum. Thanks for any help. S |

Thanks but no: I never installed it. But I don't know if it's a driver issue as it's new as of Forge 5.0b. Oh, and DirectX 8.0a (required for Vegas 2.0d). S |

I also have the G400 DH and I experienced the same problem (vertical lines). Have you already switched on the compatible graphic driver mode in the SF5-settings? After I swithced it on, the redrawing-problems when resizing disappeared. But I'm still getting the vertical lines when I e.g. timestretch a file. Vegas will also show the vertical lines...and they disappear after a refresh. Seems to be a bug. |

I tried using the latest G400 drivers and even updated the graphic card's BIOS as Matrox's tech support suggested. There is no change on my system. Considering at least another user is experiencing the same problem on another card, it could very well be a SF 5 issue. I can send jpg's of the problem if needed. S |

I am having problems with 5.0b that SF says is somehow related to my video card/display. I cant really understand why anything should be different since 4.5 worked fine and now they tell me I need to update my video drivers to accomodate 5.0. My main problem is with the video stalling at the end of edits (cant really understand why this is nor how it would be related to the video card. Cant get any real information on the forum from SF... any ideas ? |

see, you monitor a forum and the problem travles to your program by osmosis or something. i did not notice them before but i have the basic config as you do with most of the time having one monitor. i find that i get these lines at the end of the file and only files i have recorded into the program. this anomaly even shows up in vegas with those files that i recorded in to sf50. all my old waves and such do not show this in either program. i will take an old file and make changes and see if re saving it causes these lines. it seems like the program is at fault |

FYI: I've managed to get Matrox's attention via their own bug-report forum. They're currently getting the downloadable version of SF to test the issue. My corruption problems are more severe than just the "vertical lines"; the lower half of a fully enlarged data window is offset from the top half, and there's additional irrelevant garbage. However, this ONLY happens with a MONO file at 1280x1024. Doesn't happen at lower res's or with Stereo files. I'll post whatever develops here. S |

Matrox has concluded: "I just tested Sound Forge with 3 different sets of driver and the problem was present on all drivers... forwarded your case including the screen shots to our software department. I put a high priority on it hopefully it will be fixed soon." S |
