Is there still a discount for SF9 users? I thought it was extended until the end of November but I don't see anything about it on the Sony web site. Thx |

I have checked the link for upgrade, no discount. I did not get any pre-sales notification for the special upgrade price from Sony. Well, I have to skip this version and stay with the version nine, the same way I did it to Vegas pro from 8 to 9. Sony, make sure everyone gets pre-sales notification, I shouldn't come to forum to learn about special pricing for upgrades. |

I always get all the offers. Go to My Account / Preferences, and make sure you're signed up for the newsletters and other mailings that interest you. |

The preferences area was checked, after I noticed the SF 10. I have been using these software's since Vegas version 3.0 when the company use to be Sonic Foundry. I used to get every year notifications and monthly catalog as well. But since Vegas 9, everything stopped coming my way. I missed that offer as well. that is the reason I stayed with VP 8.0. Now I should do the same by skipping this version. Sony Software's are my backups, for editing. I use Avid Media composer 4.05, and Final Cut 7.0, which are industries standard software's $200 + to pay for upgrade software that you can buy full version of the same for half the price or sometimes even cheaper ( under $400.00 from Video guys, It's lots of money. Avid MC full retail version cost $2500.00 and the upgrades are only $295.00. My whole point is. upgrade for $500.00 software should not exceed $100 I strongly believe, Sony needs more knowledgeable people in there marketing department, especially in these times and days with the down turn & poor economy . |
