Subject:Trouble with imported mp3's tempo.

I'm trying to record a song with multiple guitar parts. Each time I record one and import it into Acid Music Studio 7, it changes the tempo. Normally, this wouldn't be a problem, as I could just change it back, but when it changes three different parts to three different tempos, it is. How do I change it so AMS7 doesn't change the BPM?

What are you using to record?

That shouldn't matter. I'm recording each part the same way, and simply import the mp3 files into Acid Music Studio 7.

Start by posting your system specs. Then... when someone asks you a question, answer it. If you ask for help, and people try to help you., work with them.

Just so you know, your question doesn't make sense on several levels.

Whatever I'm using to get my mp3's isn't the issue. My system doesn't have anything to do with it, either. ACID Music Studio is changing the tempo when I import them. That's the problem. If that doesn't make sense, tell me what I'm missing and I'll clarify.

Check Beatmapper settings rude boy.

Well, one thing you're missing is that people more experienced than you often need more information in order to help you find an answer, and often the information they need doesn't make sense to you because you're not as experienced. Therefore it's a good idea to answer any questions put to you by those who are trying to help.

Did you use Beatmapper when you imported the songs? If so that can end up adjusting the song's tempo to match the project tempo, which may not be what you want.

Also, MP3 is a less than optimal format. You should be recording and saving WAV files instead so that you don't lose quality. MP3 is lossy and won't contain all the quality of the original recording.

@krushem, ok, fine. What *should* they be set to, if I don't want it to change at all?

@Chienworks, I can't come up with a single reason anything about my system outside of AMS7 or what I'm using to record would make a difference. The MP3's are there (and just so I'm not skipping around, I'll take the bit about quality into consideration -- MP3 just happened to be the optimal format. I'll record in .WAV from now on). If anyone asks something specific (like if I used Beatmapper, or a specific detail about my system) I'll answer, but I can't see something as general as "system specs" being helpful.

And no, I wasn't using beatmapper.

Just to clarify, I'm really trying not to be rude. I apologize if I am. I'll try to work with you guys as much as I know how to.

And on top of what Chienworks said, MP3s record header information that can show up as a fraction of a second of blank space at the beginning of the wave form, and not necessarily the same consistent length in each file, so when you import your MP3s they might (I said "might") also be slightly out of sync. MP3 format is fine for crappy pocket music players and nickel headphones, but as source files for your song project, it's ludicrous to use them.

"And no, I wasn't using beatmapper."
Just because you are not using beatmapper, your audio files imported can still be set to be set as LOOP without ever going into the beatmapper.

You want them to be set as 'ONE-SHOT'. Which will play those mp3's 'as is'.

Maybe you can't, but in lots of cases others may see crucial clues in answers to questions like these. And after all, isn't this why you came into the forum for help?
