hi, i'm new to acid. i've got the trial music studio (expiring in 10 days). was wondering if someone could give me or point me to an overview of the mixer section and adjusting all levels. currently i have my 1st track inserted and have a strong led signal but where should it be peaking out at (green, yellow) ideally? also i see the vertical "preview" and "master" leds. where do they come into play and what should i expect to see them doing (or where should they be peaking out)? can someone go step by step and explain the sequence leading up to recording? t h a n k s ! david |

I have not the time to go into the detail you ask... there are books on the subject as well as info on the web if you search.... however.... Keep the level below zero on all tracks and also on your master. Adjust everything so each instrument is heard at the right level you want in your mix, but again keeping it from peaking above 0. When you are done with the song, put a limiter on the master and that will pump up the volume some without going over the 0..... If it goes over zero it is called clipping, which is a form of distortion. Anyway, way over simplified, but ....... For more info check out this forum at KVR http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=62&sid=76ecf9587bcd38018b10bc1439f34929 KVR in general is a wealth of info.... good luck.... |
