I can record midi from my controller. While I'm recording that midi, Aria is working. I've set Aria as the output synth, but when I playback the event on the timeline, I hear nothing. What am I missing? As an aside, even though I've registered the app, when I add Aria to the track, I get a message saying that it isn't registered. I even went through the process again and the Garritan site says I'm registered. I did the PNG drag thing. Is my registration issue related to my playback issue? |

Could be a registration issue but just to be sure is the MIDI track in question actually routed to ARIA (via a button either at the track level or in the Mixer)? Iacobus |

At the track level. In the list that appeared when I clicked MIDI Output , I chose Insert Soft Synth... and then selected Aria. Though it was already chosen, which is why I could hear the sample when recording the MIDI file, right? |

I have had this problem in the past (not limited to Aria). Make sure that the channel selected on the track matches the channel where you have configured the Aria instrument. I have also found in the past the playback seems muted until I added a new track (even though i could hear it while I was recording) Not sure why this is the case, but it was my experience. It may be related to getting the focus off the recorded track, but I do not really know. I should probably raise a support ticket with Sony. There does sometimes seem to be a certain amount of magic involved with Acid. Ciao, marks |

No, my midi channel was correct. It seems to have been a registration issue. I did the PNG drag, but I dragged it from the web page. I had to save the graphic locally and then drag it to Aria. (silly procedure, but oh well...) Then, I noticed something else that was interesting. I had a project set up for 44.1/16 and tried to render to 48/24. Nothing in the resulting file. When I rendered the soft synth project to .WAV with the same rate and depth as the project settings, it worked. This is something that I don't think I'd ever do outside of testing, so it shouldn't be a problem, but I just thought that was odd. Thanks all. |
