I transfer a lot of material via cassette to Sound Forge. Does anyone know a way of immitating slowing a tape down. I'd like to transfer from tape to digital at 2X speed and then with sound forge restore it to origional speed. It may save me some time. Thanks. |

You might get decent results by recording it in at 2x speed and then using time compress/expand from the process menu to make it twice the length, but I am willing to bet you will encounter a lot of artifacts if you do this. Ted |

As an example: Make original SF recording at 44.1. Pick resample option. Put check mark in "Set the sample rate only (Do not resample)." Playback will now be 1/2 speed of original. This is also useful for old reecords that wont track at 78RPM but will at 33 1/3. You must work out the speed change ratios first though. Good luck. |

I neglected to say: After making original SF recording, select Resample option and set to 22.05. THEN put check mark in etc..... |
