Hi, can any one help? I have some old c90 tapes which i want to save! Basically i want to record them into soundfactory (which i can do), then clean them up as best i can, e.g remove hiss and other annoying c90 noises! (which i don't know how to do!) Could any one tell me what filters, etc i need to use to make the music on these tapes good again. Once ive cleaned them up, i'll be minidiscing them>>>>so pleasse help!!! |

get Noise Reduction 2.0 from Sonic Foundry. It's great on tape hiss. Also has some great vinyl restoration plugins. |

Thanks! I was wondering though, without using noise reduction 2(200 pounds! :( ) if sonicfoundry has any other features? Ive been experimenting with parametics which seems quite effective in noise reductions but can i go any further?? Thanks |

Go with the Noise Reduction plug-ins. They are truly amazing - way, way better than trying to use EQ. Providing you are able to sample a short section of the unwanted noise, you can easily lose up to 50dB of noise without damaging the audio. |
