Subject:Track Markers

I'm in need of a wav file editing program that allows me to insert track markers into lengthy (80 minute+), seamless (no breaks) DJ compilations (20 tracks or more) that I send from my mixer into my sound card and store as a wav file. Is Sound Forge the answer to my problems? Will it avoid both gaps between songs once I insert the track markers upon burning CDR's as well as clipping sounds when the file is snipped? Does it support Plexwriter 8X20 burners with Adaptec SCSI? If not, will the wav file I edit in Sound Forge (assuming these other options are plausible) be compatible with Adaptec's Easy CD creator package (or Plexwriters) for burning purposes ie are the editied wav file types universal or can they only be burned with Sound Forge's supported burners? Will it work with Windows '98 First Edition (my OS)? Currently I use Easy CD Creator's package, but its sound editor functions are lacking. Can I use Sound Forge as the recording program with my Turtle Beach Soundcard? I know its a ton of questions, but I've burned through a lot of time and money trying to accomplish these seemingly simple tasks. I've tried/purchased Tascam Minidisk recorders digitally converted into their US 428 then USB into Steinberg's Cubasis but to no avail(despite the unnecessary daisy chain of hardware, the main issue became Steiberg software's multiple compatibility issues). Lastly, if Sound Forge won't work for my set-up any suggestions on other options/programs to address the track marker issue? Thanks. |
