I am working with Acid 2.0 and importing drum files from an audio cd of live drummers. I ripp the file from the cd in Wavelab and select the 4 measures that I want to use and save it as a wav file. Then I drag it into Acid and play it and it sounds like there is a slight phaze problem. The files that I am using are stereo files and sound fine while in Wavelab. The tempo is staying the same so the problem is not a tempo change problem. Any ideas what can be going on? Would it have something to do with "Acid-izing" my file? Thanks. |

Funny.....Same happened to me yesterday with acid 2. My problem was actually the BPM. It didn't effect the speed of my imported sample because my sample was set to DISK BASED. Yet if you do not have the project tempo set to exactly match your imported disk file you get this weird out of phase sound. 2 resolutions. While playing the file, start to tap the up or down arrow next to the project tempo to slowly change it.....you will hear your phasing get louder and weirder the farther away from the true tempo you go.......SO GO THE OTHER WAY!! or the best way is to set the sample to looped based or one shot, that saves system resorces. |

I get a similar 'phaze' sound on my recorded tracks, using Acid 2. I record thru a Delta 44 and at first I thought it was my hardware but the phaze is in sync with the tempo and your using a different medium and getting something similar. |

Thank you. It seems that my phaze problem was the tempo too. For me acid has worked fine when changing the tempo more than 3 bpm but less than that and it had to be 'exactly' at the original tempo or I was getting the phaze problem. There are no problems with disk based or one shot segments. So, sliding the tempo bar just a little did the trick since it wasn't a 'major' change in the feel of the song. Praise the Lord and don't be bored! Jared. |
