Subject:"an error occurred while starting playback"

I'm on a Win XP Pro PC with ACID Pro 6.0d.

All of a sudden in the middle of an ongoing project, the sound just stopped while the playhead was moving. Then, 40 seconds later, it started again!

The second part of the error message is "The request is not enabled for this device."
Huh? I've been using this for years. How can it all the sudden not be enabled.

Anyone run into this?
