Subject:creating loops in chopper

It seems to me that creating loops in the chopper in 3.0 is
much more difficult than creating them in 2.0. In 2.0, I
could simply set the loop region around the selection, go to
edit, mix to new track, and I'm done. Is there something I'm
overlooking? How do I save the new "chopped" selection as a
new track?

Hello,

I don't think thats what the chopper is for I think its for
chopping up loops and then inserting them into the same
tracks

Example: take a drum loop and right click on it in the
chopper and select a mesure in the menu then click insert
once then select half the selection tool button on the top
of chopper view then click insert twice then half your
selection again then click insert four times and so on and
it creates a drum roll effect of sorts there is some
chopper tips in the manual.

So in other words, the loop-creating feature I described in
2.0 can't be done in 3.0?

Mix to New Track is still available in ACID 3.0
(it's called something different now...)

Just set your loop bar in the main trackview-
Go to the Tools Menu then select Render to New Track...

Like ACID 2.0, you can only mix down your tracks from the
main trackview. The Chopper works to slice and dice your
file but you cannot mix to new track from within the
Chopper.
