Hello. I have recorded someone reading a script through a phone line(long distance)in two different studios on two different days from two different phones. Needless to say, although the script is the same, one recording sounds a lot different than the other. Now I have to splice the two together, trying to make it sound like one recording session. Can someone explain the proper way to go about this?(or at least come close). I've never had to do this before. I have Sound Forge 5.0. Thanks. |

Yikes. This is really not the type of thing that can be explained. It is going to be a matter of trying different EQ settings, maybe some filters, possibly some pitch shifting, etc. Trying to make two different recordings sound alike is one of the most tedious and difficult things to do. Ted |

I'm wondering...is that what the Acoustic Mirror can be used for? -- to "mirror" one file and project it's characteristics onto another file? There should be a function out there to do such a task, no? Sonic Foundry has spoiled me up to this point so far that I just assumed the solution was just a few clicks away on Sound Forge 5.0. - pup |

Acoustic Mirror is designed to "mirror" the acoustic characteristics of different environments, not the characteristics of another file. That would be about as difficult as making two recordings sound alike. I don't think there is going to be an easy solution to your problem. Ted |
