This one Best USB Microphone Overall ranks it 5th with the best mic being the Audio Technica AT2020USB Condenser USB Microphone. I have an Audio Technica AT2020 (non-USB $99) and it is an outstanding mic for the price. It almost sounds as good as my $400 AT4033. It is the best condenser mic for the money. > i haven't seen this bundle anywhere else have you? Oh... how about: Amazon Guitar Center Music123 4Lyons Woodwinds & Brass MI Supply Fry's Electronics just to name a few... it seems you can't buy that mic without ACID Music Studio which makes me question the quality of the mic (since the bundled software obviously sweetens the deal). Get the AT2020USB. You can't go wrong. ~jr |

I'll second Johnny Roy's opinion of the AT2020 (non-USB), which I also got as a starter mic. For the price it's amazing quality. I use it for music vocal and narration voice-over, and the sound for every range of voice is superb. Haven't tried it on instruments, but again if $100 is your budget, I think you can't go wrong with the 2020. Assuming the condenser hardware is the same for the USB version, I think it's an excellent investment. |
