I'm trying to use ACID to cut music and have never had any problems in the past. Usually I just pull music from itunes and it lets me use that song. I tried again today, and all of my music coming from itunes (.m4a) is not working. Can anyone tell me why, and how I can fix it? |

If the files have Digital Rights Management (DRM) this is why they can't be used outside of iTunes. Some of the iTunes catalog has it and some does not. ~jr |

I avoid m4a files, about the same way as I avoid a bubonic rat. |

Most of the songs from iTunes are in "iTunes Plus" format, which means you can practically use them anywhere (but you pay a little extra). I believe they started doing this more recently. If you have older songs you bought from iTunes, it's likely they are in the DRM format like Johnny mentioned. On the plus side, Apple offers the ability to "upgrade" any of your DRM songs to iTunes Plus format for a nominal fee via the iTunes application itself. And need I mention: Do not use any copyrighted material for your own monetary gains in your projects unless you get permission. Iacobus |
