Subject:Wrong VSTi Loading

When inserting a soft synth, say EW Stormdrum, another one (Spectrasonics Stylus) loads. I have this issue with about 4-5 VSTis. Yet, I have others, like PLAY VSTi that when loaded, it loads the correct PLAY VSTi. As far as I can recall this started happening when I updated ACID Pro with with version 7d. Thoughts? Any suggested solutions? Thanks, raskiefilm. |

How are you inserting a soft-synth? Peter |

@ Peter: In the mixer, there is a "insert Soft Synth" button. From there, it opens up the vstplugins folder to which I select a softsynth. Jason |

Can you try the following and let me know if the problem persists: - Open the Plug-in Manager View - Locate the VSTi you want to add Method 1: Drag the VSTi to the Mix Console view. Results: This should create a soft-synth bus Method 2: Right Click on the VSTi and select "Insert Soft Synth" Results: This should create a soft-synth bus Do either of these methods cause the same problem? As soon as I get home, I'll give it a try and report back. Thank you. |

Both of those methods cause the same problem. Next steps? Thanks, Jason |

Next steps? Rescan your plugins. Open the Plug-In Manager View Click The VST Configure button on the Plug-in Manager View's tool bar (farthest on the right.) This will present the VST configuration dialog. Check the "Force Rebuild" option. Click the "Scan" button. Depending on how many plug-ins you have, this can take a long time. Peter |

One more thing to look at : In ACID Pro 7.0d we added more information on the plug-ins. Locate the plugin(s) that are causing you problems in the Plug-in Manager View. Right click on the plug-in and select " Properties..." This will present a Properties dialog for the plugi-in. Are the "Location" and "Filename" correct for the plugin? If not, then you should try the Force Rescan option I previously described. Peter |

The Filename and Location are correct. The "Name" is not correct. The Name is associated with the wrong dll file. And the rescan did not resolve the issue. Next steps? Thanks, raskiefilm Message last edited on2/8/2010 6:25:23 PM byraskiefilm. |

As of last night, I deleted the acidpro.plugincache.xml and vst_.log, purged some of the VSTs that I would no longer use for composing, and did 4 forced rescans. All VSTis are named properly and work properly. Thank you to Peter and the Acid community for the help and support. Now I can get back to business (and play). raskiefilm |
