If you want to use the audio that your keyboard is producing, you'll have to connect the keyboard to your audio interface or sound card once you figure out what connections both have. (e.g., 1/4" out from the keyboard to 1/8" minijack on your sound card; you'd obviously have to use an adapter cable of some sort.)

From there it would be just a case of selecting the specific input on the audio track provided everything is set properly. (Options > Preferences > Audio Device on the menu bar.)

If I understand you, you want to record the output of a soft-synth to a track.

Currently ACID only permits the recording of soft-synths as MIDI tracks.

Something that is on our radar for a future version.

The way I do it is just use a MIDI TRACK with NO quantization, and load a soft synth on that MIDI TRACK.
Record me playing my keyboard live performance using that MIDI TRACK.

Then, I take that MIDI TRACK and FREEZE it.
Then, I go to the folder where that FREEZE track file is saved, and 'copy' or 'drag' it onto an ACID AUDIO TRACK.

I don't know if this is what you want, but, maybe it is.

You play it into the track ( it's MIDI, but you don't have to think about that at all) and then render it.

Or

I take it you want to play the keyboard and record it as audio immediately ? You could run the VSTi 'stand -alone', and use the output of the VSTi routed to and audio track input in Acid. If your VSTi doesn't present as a devcie output, use something like VAC o loop the output to Acid's input.

If you have a MIDI controller/keyboard of some sort, it's a matter of enabling its input in ACID for MIDI recording. How this is done is all particular to your setup. For example, my Oxygen8 is set up via USB; I just enable its input via Options > Preferences > MIDI. I then route the MIDI track's input to the Oxygen8 and ploink away.
