does anybody have any suggestions about getting an acid
composition to trigger a sequencer and sync them up? My
Korg O1W Pro-x and my Acid are not talking to each other at
all. I have had the Roland VS 1680 and the Acid syncing.
thanks for any insight you can add.
sincerley.

Paul,

I've found the easiest and most reliable method for
synchronizing external devices is to use the MIDI Clock
function. The setup is quite easy:

1. Open ACID Pro 2.
2. Goto the "OPTIONS" menu and click "PREFERENCES".
3. Click the "SYNC" tab.
4. Look to where it says, "GENERATE MIDI CLOCK SETTINGS",
and select the appropriate device (By appropriate, I mean
the port that is connected to your external device. It's
probably listed as "MIDI OUT" or "MPU401 OUT" or similar.
You probably know which one it is).
5. Now click "ADVANCED".
6. Goto the "MIDI CLOCK OUTPUT" tab and click "SEND START
INSTEAD OF CONTINUE". This is the setting I always use, but
your system could be different. It just depends on your
device.
7. Click "OK", and click "OK" again.
8. Now press "SHIFT+F7" to enable the clock export.
9. Look to your external device and set it to respond to an
external clock. This can be done possibly by pressing a
specific button, setting tempo to "000", or something else.
Be sure to refer to your manual.
10. Now ACID is ready to send MIDI Clock, and your device
is listening. Hit play on ACID, and away you go.

There you are. That's my explanation. You may have to tweak
around with the settings a bit, but believe me, it is
possible. The MIDI Clock export is flawlessly timed, so you
typically won't get any of the lag/startup/chase issues
associated with MTC. Try the above, and let us know how it
all goes.

Best wishes,
Nick LaMartina
