Just bought the upgrade for ACID 3.0.
I bought it for the same reason I bought 2.0. The Sync to
MTC did NOT work in V1.0, so I payed $100 for 2.0.
I just payed $100 for V3.0 because Sync to TC did not work
in V2.0 either.
Guess what??
Yeah! Sync to MTC does NOT WORK AT ALL this time!!!
My friends from Sonic Foundry, this time you will not get
away so easy. I waited 2 years for a bugfix. I'm running
out of patience. You're selling us tons of useless features
but the basics like syncing your bloody program to a
sequencer is NOT possible!!??
Get a grip!
Anybody wants to join me for a lawsuit?

You Know
Sonic Foundry lets you download a demo to try out before
you buy Acid 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 If the features didn't work
for you why in the HELL would you buy it!!!!

For a start the sync to TC function wasn't integrated in
the demo Version of 3.0 at all, but they said it will be
fully working in the final release.
And if they say that the program is syncable to incoming
MIDI timecode, shouldn't it do so?
Why do I have to go through the timeconsuming process and
finding out if all their promises work??

Did you read Chapter 7? Theres extensive setup on that
issue allot of other things could be wrong maybe it's not
acid it could be a setting in your system.

Believe me there's nothing wrong with my setup. I'm a pro
user for 15 years.
I couldn't find a TC offset field. Where is it??
When I hit play on my external device ACID sometimes find
some bits of the TC but looses sync immediately, then finds
something again and stops, looks like dropouts. Dropouts on
MTC? Give me a break Sonic Foundry......

Outrage,

What kind of problems are you experiencing? I've read some
of your other posts but am still having a difficult time
understanding you complaint. Are you saying ACID doesn't
chases to MTC at all? That it's sporadic? Or that it
flanges just a tad when doubled? Curiously investigating
your claims, I've been experimenting with my own MTC setup,
using both an internal and external loopback to synch up
ACID with other programs. Thus far, I don't seem to be
reproducing the results you speak of, but it could be that
I'm misinterpreting. Could be more specific about what
exactly you're noticing? Thanks.

To set the offset, you must first show the time ruler:

View | Time Ruler _> Show Time Ruler

This will display a ruler at the bottom of the track view.

Then you right click on the time ruler and click "Set time
at Cursor".

This offset will then be use by MTC trigger and generate
and MIDI Clock generate.

This is described in the Help file as well. Do a search
for "Offset" in the help.

Nick, it doesn't chase at all to MTC. All my other software
does, incl. ACID 2.0. What happens, sometimes ACID 3.0
recognises bits of the timecode (flickers) but stops
immediately and goes to listening... waiting for TC.

Peter,

Managed to set the offset, though I don't see the point
what was wrong with the old method. Seems to be more
complicated now. Still you didn't tell me why the trigger
to MTC doesn't work....

Trigger to timecode is not the same as sync. ACID3's
trigger will look for incoming timecode and simply initiate
playback, not follow the incoming timecode. When ACID
stops receiving timecode, playback with stop as well.

Is playback continuing for you after triggered? Is it
stopping when receiving timecode?

Thanks.

I don't know why it isn't working for you. We cannot
reproduce and others are using it with no problem. I was
told you are using the Creamware card as your MIDI input
device. Do you have an alternate MIDI input source you can
test with? (I have personally had problems with the
Creamware hardware in general.)
