I am running 3.0 under Win2k using a MOTU 2408 interface and a SB Live card- regardless of input (MOTU or Live) , any audio I record comes out sounding like I used a ring modulator with distortion on it! Any ideas as to what could be causing this? |

Hi I have the MOTU-2408 (1st ver) and have recorded at least 12 tracks of vocals crystal clear. I am running Win98se Im waiting for MOTU to get the bugs worked out of their Win2k drivers. Does this happen with mono or stereo files? Do you have Make new track follow project tempo (Record Window) What Recording Device do you have selected in the Record Window? I don't know if this will help you but here is how my console is set up for 3ea. I/Os for Win98se. Sample Rate 44100 Buffer Size 512 Clock Source PCI-324 Monitor Out Analog 1-2 Configure Interface 2408-1 (I have the same for 3 I/Os) Enable Routing & Mono Routing (checked) Bank A= Analog, all 8 outputs From Computer, all inputs checked Bank B=ADAT, all outputs NONE, Inputs unchecked. Bank C=SPDIF, all outputs From Computer, all inputs checked Go to Control Panel>Multimedia>Devices>Audio Devices >Audio for PCI-324 Multimedia Drivers select it and click on Properties>settings and in Advance Settings check Show Only Active Ports. I hope this helps George Ware |

Frankly- 3.0 seems buggy under Win2k- maybe it has to do with the drivers- anyway- Regardless of whether new track is set to follow tempo or not there are probs- if I record at 44.1 the track comes out sloooowwww and distorted, if I use 48k it comes out correct speed but same awful sound- I double check MOTU settings- all are fine- sample rate gets adjusted properly if I change it in Acid- however- after recording I get the pointer with hourglass symbol on the track area- I can access the text menu on top but that is all- however all keyboard shortcuts work fine- I will uninstall/re-install and see if that helps- |

I saw this statement in the readme file: A driver issue with MIDIMan USB devices may prevent recording. This is more thean a bit vague- and I use a Midisport 2x2 in my setup- what exactly does this mean? Is anyone from SF reading these posts? Is this a moderated forum? Thanks- |

This is not a official support forum for SF. While there are SF employees lurking, it is considered a peer-to-peer support forum. The problem with the MIDIMan USB MIDI drivers is that the drivers do not control the stream of MIDI data correctly. As soon as the device is opened, they begin streaming any MIDI data that appears on the port. This is incorrect. This early data can "confuse" ACID 3, though it is not a problem for all users. MIDI man is aware of the problem is will be releasing a fix for the drivers. Peter |
