Subject:MP3/128kbps and higher bitrates

Got a SF40XP. Need to open, edit and save in MP3 but with
better quality than what seems to be in SF45XP (64kbps). Is
there a reasonable cost upgrade path to a SoundForge
version which supports SAVING in MP3 WITH bitrates of
128kbps and higher? Reasonable meaning less than 100USD.

Also support for variable bitrates would be nice...

If you have Sound Forge XP 4.5 ($41.97 as a download), you
can encode to bitrates as high as 320kbps, and it supports
VBR as well.
