Hi, I have installed Harmless and it works and sounds fantastic under Acid Music Studio. But I can't find method to assign chosen parameter (like vibrato, tremolo) to modulation wheel on my keyboard. I'm using the simplest MIDI keyboard (MIDItech Control 25) which has two wheels (pitch and modulation) but I can not regulate their parameters (works only with default controller). Does anybody know this is a Harmless VST issue ? ... or should I do something in AMS ? Best regards, RRA |

Harmless has a MIDI learn mode for its controls. You need to set up Harmless to map a controller msg to a specific parameter. The MIDI tech Control 25 appears to have 8 rotary knobs - at least the one I found when I did a Google on it. Control 25 so you should not be limited to only the mod or pitch bend wheel. Hi, Yes there are 2 wheels and 8 knobs but probably I'm missing something in configuration. I have "global midi learn" option in Harmless ON. From other side MIDI Tech Control 25 is visible and ON on the list of "make this device available for MIDI input" in AMS. Please tell me what I have to do as a next step. I can see "controller maps" tab in track properties but I can't understand how to "set up Harmless to map a controller msg to a specific parameter". For example Vibrato Rate has CC# 76 on the list but it's not assigned to Harmless nor MIDI Tech... Best regards, |

Please tell me what I have to do as a next step. - Select the track in ACID that is routed to Harmless. - Right click on the Control in Harmless you want to assign to a knob on your Control 25. (I would not suggest using PB or Mod wheel) Select "MIDI Learn" -Turn the knob on your Control 25. Now, assuming that no other Harmless parameter is assigned to what is sent by the Control 25, then that parameter is now assigned to whatever the Control 25 is sending. Ideally you should just assign the knobs on the Control 25 to the correct MIDI CC msg, but the above is altenative. I can see "controller maps" tab in track properties but I can't understand how to "set up Harmless to map a controller msg to a specific parameter". For example Vibrato Rate has CC# 76 on the list but it's not assigned to Harmless nor MIDI Tech... The controller maps in ACID are to allow you to label what any give CC msg does for the particular synth you are talking to. It does not configure Harmless or the Control 25. From your example, ACID does map by default Vibrato Rate to CC76. This is the MIDI spec default. Change one of the faders on the Track header in ACID to show "Vibrato Rate". When you move that fader in ACID, Harmless' Vibrato Rate will follow. If your Control 25 knob 1 sends out CC 12, and you remap Harmless' Vibrato Rate to CC12, then you can relable CC12 in ACID to "Vibrato Rate" and save this as a template for ACID to use with Harmless. Your best bet is to configure the Control 25 to a standard MIDI or GM default set up for the parameters you want to control so you do not have to remap Harmless. Peter |

Hi Peter, Thanks a lot : method 1) is very simple, fast and works for me correctly :-) I did not know about right click on VST controller and have spent a lot of time to organize this without effects. Now it is clear ! Best regards, |
